Wagyu Tri-tip

Delicious Wagyu Tri-tip

The Tri-tip is a cut of beef from the sirloin primal used in many steakhouse restaurants. If you haven’t tried a Tri-tip on the grill you are missing out. It’s a mini roast that’s delicious, juicy, and tender when cooked correctly. I like to cook them over wood charcoals. I’ll cook a Tri-tip so each side is thoroughly charred, the result will be a medium rare that is absolutely full of beef flavor, juicy and tender.

Tri-tip recipe

Grilled Tri-Tip with Garlic and Herbs:

Ingredients:

  • 1 tri-tip roast (about 2-3 pounds)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, combine the minced garlic, rosemary, thyme, olive oil, salt, and pepper to create a marinade.
  2. Rub the marinade evenly over the tri-tip roast, ensuring it’s well-coated. Let it marinate for at least 2 hours or overnight in the refrigerator for enhanced flavor.
  3. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Remove the tri-tip from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  4. Grill the tri-tip for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the desired doneness is reached (medium-rare is recommended for the best flavor).
  5. Remove the tri-tip from the grill and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.
  6. Slice the tri-tip against the grain and serve with your favorite side dishes.

Enjoy your delicious grilled tri-tip with garlic and herbs!
